22 residents in Cagayan de Oro test positive for virus

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has recorded 22 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local cases, epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Thursday, October 29.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 1,589.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 22 new local cases, five are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and five are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

The profiles of the new Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro City are the following:

* 1,568th case: a 25-year-old male resident of Barangay Balulang who was exposed to his co-worker, the 1,441st case. His last day of exposure was on October 21. His last day of duty was on October 22. He also experienced loss of sense of smell and taste on the same day. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the man.

* 1,569th case: a 16-year-old female resident of Barangay Lapasan, who was exposed to the 1,293rd case. She is the watcher of the 1,293rd case. Her last day of exposure was on October 21. She was swabbed on October 27 and the result came out positive. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified one direct contact of the young lady.

* 1,570th case: a 30-year-old male resident of Barangay Macasandig who works as a private company employee. His last day of duty was on October 24. He experienced loss of sense of taste and smell on the same day. He was admitted in a private hospital on October 26. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two household contacts of the man.

* 1,571st case: a 36-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswagan who works as a bank official. She experienced cough, sore throat, and loss of sense of taste and smell on October 17. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 26. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,572nd case: a 34-year-old male resident of Barangay Bulua who works as a sales agent of a company. He underwent a rapid diagnostic test on October 10 and the result came out positive. He was isolated in the city isolation unit and was swabbed on October 11. The result came out negative.

The man went back to work on October 12. His last day of duty was on October 13. He underwent a rapid diagnostic test again on October 24 and the result was positive. He was swabbed and tested positive.

The City Health Office identified one close contact of the man.

* 1,573rd case: a 50-year-old male resident of Barangay Iponan who works as a contractor. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,574th case: a 49-year-old male resident of Barangay Cugman. He had onset of symptoms on October 24. He went to a private hospital for a checkup on October 26. He was swabbed on October 27 and the result came out positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the man.

* 1,575th case: a 50-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Kauswagan who works as a government employee. His last day of duty was on October 23. He experienced loss of sense of smell and taste on October 24. He was brought to the city isolation unit on October 26. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified three direct contacts of the man.

* 1,576th case: a 22-year-old female resident of Barangay Macabalan who works in a private company. Her last day of duty was on October 22. She had diarrhea and nasal congestion on the same day. She went to the company infirmary for check up on October 26. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified seven direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,577th case: a 34-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Camaman-an. She works as a nursing attendant in a private hospital. She was exposed to the 1,498th case. Her last day of duty was on October 24. She had nasal congestion on October 25. She was isolated in the said private hospital on October 26.

* 1,578th case: a 59-year-old male resident of Barangay Camaman-an who works in a private company. His last day of duty was on October 19, and had a cough on the same day. He was swabbed on October 25 and the result came out positive. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,579th case: a 69-year-old female resident of Barangay Consolacion. She experienced headache and body weakness on October 19. She went to a private clinic for consultation on October 22 and was referred to the JR Borja General Hospital on October 23. She was admitted to the said hospital on October 24. She is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified eight direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,580th case: a 40-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswaganm who was exposed to her husband, the 1,367th case. Her last day of exposure was on October 20. She was brought to the city isolation unit on October 21. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,581st case: a six-year-old female resident of Barangay Kauswagan. She is the daughter of the 1,580th and 1,367th case. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,582nd case: a 28-year-old female local Apor residing in Barangay Bulua, who works as a personnel in JR Borja General Hospital.

* 1,583rd case: a 41-year-old male local Apor residing in Barangay Carmen who is a healthcare worker at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC). His last day of duty was on October 24. He attended a christening in Barangay Bulua on October 25. He had an onset of fever and dry cough on October 26. He is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

* 1,584th case: a 31-year-old male resident of Barangay Bulua who works as a private employee. His last day of duty was on October 19. He had a fever and headache on the same day. He was admitted at the NMMC on October 27.

The City Health Office identified five direct contacts of the man.

* 1,585th case: a 33-year-old female resident of Barangay Carmen who works as a caregiver. He is related to the 1,583rd case. He experienced body malaise and fever on October 21. He attended a Christening on October 25. His last day of duty was on October 27. He is currently at the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified two direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,586th case: a 37-year-old female resident of Barangay Lumbia who was exposed to a Covid-positive person in a municipality in Misamis Oriental. She works as a bookkeeper in a private company. Her last day of exposure and duty was on October 22. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,587th case: a 33-year-old female local Apor, a healthcare worker, residing in Barangay Carmen. She works as a nursing attendant in a private hospital. She had an onset of cough and shortness of breath on October 18. Her last day of duty was on October 24. She was admitted in a private hospital on October 25. She is set to be transferred to the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified eight direct contacts of the woman.

* 1,588th case: a 62-year-old female resident of Barangay 8 who works as a sales lady. She had shortness of breath on October 18 and was isolated in her home. After one week, she developed fever and diarrhea. She was admitted at the JR Borja General Hospital where she was swabbed on October 26. The result came out positive. She is set to be transferred to the NMMC or the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility.

The City Health Office identified four household contacts of the woman.

* 1,589th case: a 49-year-old female resident of Barangay Tablon. She is currently admitted at the JR Borja General Hospital.

Cagayan de Oro has registered 553 active cases, 24 of whom are admitted at the NMMC, 515 are outpatients, and 14 are ROFs/LSIs.
