SIX more deaths were confirmed due to Typhoon Quinta, raising the death toll to 22, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday, October 30, 2020.
In a report, the NDRRMC also said 39 people were injured while four others were still missing.
The disaster management council said a total of 95 incidents including 66 floodings, 22 landslides or soil collapse, six maritime mishaps and one storm surge were recorded.
These incidents affected 176,532 families or 775,513 persons in 2,469 affected barangays in Central Luzon, Calabrzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region and Western, Eastern and Central Visayas.
Of the total, 2,206 families or 8,649 people were displaced.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in coordination with the local government units and non-government organizations, has provided P1.55 million worth of assistance to the affected population.
The NDRRMC said the onslaught of Typhoon Quinta has damaged 107 road sections and 20 bridges in the affected areas.
Some 49,081 houses were damaged while 3,608 were destroyed.
A total of 530 infrastructure facilities with an estimated cost of P290 million were also damaged. (SunStar Philippines)
