CCPO collars Carreta resident, hauls over P3M worth of shabu

POLICE seized P3.5 million worth of illegal drugs after they arrested a suspected pusher in La Tresas, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City past 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020.

Clint Bernabe Cabal, 25, yielded 525 grams described as shabu by the anti-narcotics operatives.

The suspect, a resident of Barangay Carreta, had been tagged as a high-value target in the police’s regional level before his arrest.

Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Josefino Ligan said his personnel had a hard time in arresting Cabal as the suspect was elusive—he often did not stay in a single place for a much longer period of time.

The CCPO operatives were able to establish contact with Cabal after they caught the latter’s acquaintance.

Ligan said Cabal, a drug group member, had been in and out of jail; the suspect’s contact, he said, is an inmate of the Cebu City Jail.

The group in which Cabal is a member supplies illegal drugs in Cebu City and Cebu Province, said Ligan.

Cabal will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. / AYB / KAL
