PRO-Central Luzon chief asks for cooperation on typhoon response

POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon Director Valeriano De Leon has asked for the public's cooperation in the government's implementation of disaster response as Typhoon "Rolly" makes an onslaught in Luzon.

De Leon said the whole Central Luzon police have been placed on full alert starting Monday, November 2, to ensure quick response in case Rolly hits hard in the region.

He said all guidelines under the Philippine National Police Critical Incident Management Operational Procedures, which includes preparation of equipment and related capabilities for disaster response and assistance, are already in place.

"Our main concern are the people in low-lying and coastal areas so we ask them to cooperate and heed the disaster preparedness plan of the local government units, particularly in evacuating to safer places to ensure their safety," De Leon said.

He also noted that police will continue to enforce the Inter-Agency Task Force guidelines in coordination with the local government units and other law enforcement agencies to protect the public from the Covid-19 pandemic, especially those in evacuation centers.

"All deployed personnel for response operations continues to observe the minimum health standards such as wearing of protective gears, use of alcohol and sanitizers and other measures, and ensure that the public also remain compliant," he said.
