PDEA-Central Luzon Director Christian Frivaldo said the illegal drugs were packed in a cargo declared as "work bench table" and arrived in a warehouse in Manila on October 24.

Frivaldo said the package was shipped by a certain Ywlee 87 Trading from Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, and consigned to a company named "Allejam International Trading" from Manila.

"Through close coordination and surveillance, the misdeclared cargo was identified and subjected to X-ray scanning and physical examination which led to the discovery of heavily wrapped plastic packs of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu," he said.

A total of 240 kilos worth of shabu with an estimated amount of P1,632,000,000 and various personal belongings were recovered from the scene.

Frivaldo also said that two Chinese nationals identified as Jayson Tan and James Ong were also arrested during the operation.

Violation of Section 4 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspects.
