CYCLING or biking is among the prominent outdoor recreations for most people now across ages with the Covid-19 pandemic.

People have good reasons to engage in outdoor exercise or workout to stay physically fit and mentally alert.

The onslaught of Covid-19 has developed a good foundation for people to commit themselves to a healthy lifestyle to avoid the hassle of getting unhealthy by staying inactive and sedentary due to the Covid-19 health protocols.

But some strived and made a way to go out safely and engage in biking in the uplands of Bacolod City.

The Team Bendito organized by its founder Captain James Sia and Engineer Perfecto Almajo, their president, promotes a healthy lifestyle and camaraderie. The group wants to promote those qualities because it is very essential to the needs of the current times.

However, they likewise encourage bikers to also value safety when they are on the road or off-road adventures.

Discipline is very important to observe because this is essential to the reality of bikers.

"Speed is also a matter that should be given attention especially to the younger ones with strong physical stamina. When biking, safety is a priority so that we can enjoy this outdoor workout with leisure while attaining its physical advantages," Almajo said.

Their group goes out every morning to the highlands of Alangilan in Bacolod City as part of their daily routine.

After biking, they take a break at Mey's tiangge to partake some But-ong, Ibus, and Puto over a cup of coffee.

"This is where we share pleasantries that make the mood lighter," he added.
