Ng: You need to read the book Reset

I HAVE known Lex Ledesma for more than a decade now. We partied together and I liked hanging out with his sister Cheese and him. Lex Ledesma is a writer, educator, and entrepreneur. Having come from a family of engineers and architects, he was strongly encouraged to do the same. Thus, entering college, he pursued a degree in engineering, even as his heart was always drawn towards psychology.

Lex earned a Master's degree in Engineering from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of the Philippines.

Later in life, he founded a wide variety of businesses: in education, where he established two colleges; in real estate, construction, and development, by designing, building and selling houses; in restaurants, where five branches were established; all while nurturing his advocacy to lend a voice to the marginalized. I saw his real estate projects in Palm Village, Magallanes Village in Makati. He is co-founder of the SOFA Design Institute. He also dabbled in the hospitality business with his family in their resort in Boracay called Nami.

Never in my dreams did I imagine that beneath all that entrepreneurial pursuits that there was an author in him waiting to jump out of his business man persona. He is now a bonafide book author. Locked down in the Covid pandemic, he was able to write a 400-page book called Reset, which is now available in Amazon.

Yes, he did this book in less than two months. Ledesma said, "My first draft of the book took five weeks but that was, literally, all I did. Then I did editing for a few more weeks. I am used to writing fast though coz it's a requirement of psych grad school... If this continues to do well, I plan to write another one but let's see first if this can maintain its current ranking. Amazon is a whole different world though and I am still just figuring it all out."

Reset is 400 pages of well-thought of psychological basis and studies on how to deal with what is happening to us right now during this whole Covid season. And being reader friendly, Lex writes a shortened "take away" on the chapters of the book which you can go back to.

Whether you have a lot of time in your hands during this time, or you are even busier than pre-Covid. This is the book you need to have to help you make sense of what we are all going through.
