New Boracay

New Boracay

Boracay is a perfect mix of tranquility and energy.

The marvelous shallow yet still turquoise water. The long stretch of powdery white sand. The vibrant night life. The mouthwatering seafood. The amusing outdoor activities. There’s no doubt then why Boracay was hailed as one of the world’s top destinations for relaxation, and awarded as the 2012 Best Island in the World by the international travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

With quarantine restrictions easing up, the island of Boracay is now open to tourists from all over the Philippines. But before booking a flight to the beautiful island, there are a couple of guidelines to ensure this world class destination remains Covid-19 free. Visitors should be a resident from areas placed under general community quaranitne (GCQ) or lower, they should secure a negative Reserve Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test result, and securing a health declaration and prior booking are a must.

The Department of Tourism has issued Certificates of Authority to Operate (CAO) to responsible establishments with enhanced health and safety programs in place, providing guests and employees a safe environment to stay and work in, among which is the up-and-coming five-storey hotel Belmont Hotel Boracay.

Perfectly tucked in the heart of beautiful Boracay Newcoast—with views of white powdery sand, pristine crystal-clear waters, neighboring mountains and situated away from the crowd—Belmont Hotel Boracay is an ideal place to stay in especially during this time with its enhanced safety protocols while maintaining its exceptional service.

The hotel is designed to introduce tourists to the other side of Boracay with an exclusive nature experience, allowing each guest to feel the warmth, beauty and serenity of paradise. It features 442 thoroughly disinfected, well-appointed rooms; 130 deluxe queen rooms, 49 premiere deluxe rooms, 12 executive suites and six specially-abled rooms—all equipped with modern and ideal facilities, as well as Covid-19 essentials (protective masks and hand sanitizers), that will make its guests’ stay as relaxing, safe and comfortable as possible.

Striving to become a unique sanctuary, Belmont Hotel Boracay has exhaustive facilities, including a tropical-inspired swimming pool and bar facing scenic mountain views from afar, fitness center, spa, restaurant, meeting and function rooms, lush trellis garden, and a cafe that offers Asian and Mediterranean all-day dining.

In line with the government’s program in promoting sustainable tourism, the sophisticated beach-inspired hotel took part in the use of green initiatives such as using e-carts and solar shuttles, LED lighting fixtures, paper straws and paper boxes, and the use of dispensers for bathroom amenities instead of amenities stored in single-use plastic bottles.

Though its outdoor activities like the complimentary bike tour, non-motorized water activities, and complimentary guided tour of the iconic keyhole at Boracay Newcoast are now allowed, the wearing of face masks and face shields is mandatory and social distancing is strictly enforced.

With its new normal setup, the wearing of face mask and face shield is required when traversing throughout the property, hand sanitizer stations are available in key locations, a two-day disinfection and a room “seal” process is implemented before it will be opened for occupancy again and the buffet service at its restaurants has been put on pause. Instead, plated breakfasts and on-the-go food and delivery services are currently in place.

Upon reopening last Aug. 1, the mother company of the hotel, Megaworld Corp., also introduced the Megaworld Hotels’ E-Concierge App with features including online check-in and check-out, easy-to-book restaurant and spa reservations, and room service orders for a contactless transaction.
