SM Downtown lights Christmas centerpiece

SM CITY San Fernando Downtown ushered in the start of the Yuletide Season amid the ongoing coronavirus disease pandemic with the traditional lighting of its Christmas Centerpiece over the weekend.

However, unlike the past years where the celebration was marked with hundreds of guests, this year was held with a few guests and government officials as mall management had been very strict with implementing social d

The event was attended by Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and Councilor Benedict Jasper Lagman.

Lazatin said the pandemic should not be allowed to dampen the yearly Yuletide Season adding that celebrations could still be carried out with minimum health measures in place.

"Now more than ever, we need to celebrate this occasion as we show mor kindness and generosity for those affected by the pandemic," Lazatin added.

The Christmas Centerpiece included Santa' Sleigh and a couple of magnificently lighted Christmas trees. The centerpieces aside from being reminders of season for mall goers, are also focal points for yearly group photos of families and friends during the Yuletide Season.
