Geje, Lito join Team Lakay in Singapore

FORMER ONE Flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio and promising strawweight Lito Adiwang join their Team Lakay teammate Kevin Belingon in ONE: Inside the Matrix III on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.

Eustaquio faces off with South Korean Song Min Jong at a 141-pound catchweight as the main supporting bout.

Eustaquio has been up and down as of late, going 2-2 since last year. He needs a win to catapult his name back up to the contenders in the flyweight division and possibly earn a fourth fight against ONE flyweight king Adriano Moraes in the future.

The 31-year-old Eustaquio won the interim ONE flyweight belt in 2018 with a unanimous decision over Kairat Akhmetov in 2018. He became the undisputed flyweight champion after beating Moraes by unanimous decision in 2018. Moraes, however, took back his belt the following year with a unanimous decision in their third fight.

Eustaquio is coming off a third round knockout win over Toni Tauro in a rematch on Nov. 8, 2019 in Manila.

After a rough patch in his career, Song has won his last four fights. The 28-year-old South Korean will make his ONE Championship debut after an impressive two-fight stint at Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series, a developmental league for the ONE Championship. In his two fights there, Song beat Irish veteran Alan Philpott and Japanese Kodai Murata.

Eustaquio is 13-8, while Song is 11-6-1.

Adiwang, on the other hand, takes on his stiffest test to date as he takes on Shooto strawweight champion Hiroba Minowa.

Adiwang has been making waves because of his super aggressive and fast-paced fighting style. He took the ONE Warrior Series by storm with three impressive victories that earned him a ONE Championship contract. He didn’t miss a beat in his transition to the big league with back-to-back first round stoppage wins over Senzo Ikeda and Pongsiri Mitsatit.

Minowa is a winner of his last four fights and is coming off a rear-naked choke victory over Yohei Komaki on Jan. 26, 2020 to win the vacant Shooto strawweight belt.

Adiwang is 11-2 with 10 of his wins won by stoppage, while Minowa also has an identical record of 11-2 with all his wins via stoppage.

Belingon (20-7) headlines the show against former UFC veteran John Lineker (32-9). (EKA)
