Viva Music Group launches ‘Viva Musika Songwriter Search’

WITH the growing and evolving music genres, OPM (Original Pinoy Music) has stayed very dynamic as well. In fact recently, Filipinos have shown their support for OPM, drastically responsible for chart toppers not just locally but also in the national scene.

Filipino musicians, on the other hand, try to up their game in competing globally. There are so many undiscovered musicians, songwriters and producers in the country.

With this, Viva Music Group launched its “Viva Musika” campaign to give Filipino tunesmiths a chance to be discovered. “Viva Musika” is a search for the best songwriters in the different parts of the country. Since its launch, Viva Records has received more than 500 entries with more still coming. The songs submitted showcased a variety of genres not just sticking to pop music.

Viva’s main man, Vic del Rosario believes that the Philippine South is a talent-rich area with its own style and sound. He has even established an extension of his multi-media company in the area and aptly called it Viva South.

There are already a lot of musicians making a name from the southern part of the country. Seeing its potential, Viva Musika encourages the creative songwriters from Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Tacloban, Roxas, Iloilo and Bacolod to also send in their songs.

Ten lucky winners will be selected through Viva’s stringent screening. Winners will receive a cash prize of P10,000 each and a contract with Viva Music Publishing. The deadline of submissions for the “Viva Musika Songwriter Search” will be on Nov. 24. Interested songwriters may visit Viva.com.ph/Vivamusika2020 for more details.
