FIVE persons were arrested in a law enforcement operation for violation of the illegal cockfighting law in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Tuesday, November 10.
Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested violators as Roseller Villarojo Estrada, 25; Mesael Benada Sailana, 42; Carlito Ginotan, 37; Ruben Cruz Estrada, 53; and Larry Dagayloan Grapa, 23.
Duco said the five were nabbed around 1:45 p.m. Monday, November 9, in Sitio Sebaca in San Antonio village, Polanco, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Duco said they were arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of Section 5 (d) of Presidential Decree 449 or the Cockfighting Law of 1974.
The court has set a bail bond of P5,000 for each of the cockfighting law violators. (SunStar Zamboanga)
