King explores ‘greater connection’ in latest exhibit

ARTIST Golda King delivers the message of a universal bond in a series of artworks featured through her latest solo exhibition “Connect the Dots.”

“In this space and time, we are all connected. To understand, all it takes is to have the courage to connect the dots,” shared King in her artist statement.

In “Connect the Dots,” King interprets vegetal themes with her distinctive watercolor, graphite and gouache with pointillism references. The exhibit also features some body of works in pen and ink from her 2017 Studio Art Residency in Vermont (USA).

From the expanse presented in “Where Are You At These Days?” to the internal struggles portrayed in “Can You Feel Feelings?,” the Cebu-based artist has presented yet another series of works that are sure to provoke and inspire deeper contemplation among the city’s art patrons and aficionados.

“Marvel at fiery sunrises, moody sunsets and overcast days that make you feel alive. Enjoy all of nature’s nuances and surprises,” added the artist.

King, currently based in Cebu, has a bachelor’s degree in painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. The artist has been awarded residencies in Vermont, Laugarvatn (Iceland), Champagne-Ardenne (France) and Studio Kura, Itoshima (Japan).

The exhibit “Connect the Dots” by Golda King is presented by Qube Gallery, Cebu and runs from Oct. 15 to Nov. 14.
