QR code registration for establishments resumes

DAYS after its portal had been temporarily shut down due to technical issues, the SafeDavao QR (DQR) code registration will resume beginning Wednesday, November 11, but only for establishments, for the meantime.

Davao City Mayor Duterte-Carpio said on Monday, November 9, that the City Government will be providing the link where establishments can register for the DQR.

Based on the information she received, some establishments that have already secured their respective QR codes have already their scanning devices.

The mayor, meanwhile, said the City will be implementing the DQR registration by phase, where a separate link will be issued for individual registration once the system is ready, to decongest the web traffic that the portal had previously received.

The mayor reported that around 360,000 individuals were registered to the city's QR code system.

Meanwhile, she reminded both establishments and individuals who were able to secure their QR code prior to the registration suspension not to get another QR code.

"Duna nay mga establishments nga ready na, duna na sila'y QR code (There are some establishments that are ready for the implementation as they were able to secure their QR code). So there is no need to register again. Same pud sa mga individuals (This goes out to the individual registration as well)," Duterte-Carpio said.

Duterte-Carpio said the target date of the enforcement of the QR code will still be on November 23. However, this will still be subject for changes depending on the situation on the registration.

The DQR was supposed to be implemented on November 7 but was postponed following the technical glitches and errors in the registration process.

The DQR registration website (https://safedavaoqr.davaoct.com) was temporarily shut down since November 4.

Duterte-Carpio attributed the surge of website visitors after she went on air on Tuesday, November 3, when she talked about the DQR and its implementation.

DQR is an electronic contact tracing and travel pass platform intended to be implemented for several purposes.

For one, it will serve as a pass for entry into and travel inside Davao City to implement the requirement that travel must be for goods and accessing essential services or for work/business only.

Duterte-Carpio said this is in replacement to the food and medicine pass, which was used during the enhanced community quarantine to regulate the public's movement.
