3 suspected drug peddlers arrested, yield P340,000 shabu

ANTI–NARCOTICS agents in the Cordillera region arrested three suspected drug dealers and seized more than P340,000 worth of shabu in separate buy-bust operations recently.

In a sting operation, Clint Macachor from Malate, Manila and Reynaldo de Castro from Balagtas, Bulacan were arrested after selling 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 to an undercover agent in Guisad Central, Baguio City on Monday, November 9.

The sting operation was conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Police Regional Office –Cordillera (PRO- COR), Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 2, CIT- Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU 14) Baguio, Criminal Intelligence and Detection Group (CIDG) Baguio and the National Bureau of Investigation–Cordillera Administrative Region.

In Kalinga, a suspected drug peddler was arrested by operatives composed of Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU/DEU) of Kalinga Provincial Police Office (PPO), Rizal Municipal Police Station (MPS), Regional Intelligence Division PRO–COR (RID PRO-COR) and RIU-14, CIDG Kalinga in coordination with PDEA–CAR in a drug bust operation at Rizal, Kalinga on November 9.

Arrested during the buy-bust is Joseph Ganab, 29, of Barangay Calaocan, Rizal, Kalinga.

Kalinga police revealed the suspect already surrendered to Rizal MPS in 2016 but did not finish his community-based rehabilitation program.

Ganab is also listed as a high-value individual drug personality of Kalinga PPO.

Police confiscated from Ganab five small heat-sealed transparent sachets containing shabu worth P6,800 and two P1,000 bills.
