ALL 26 barangays of Masantol town in Pampanga are submerged in floodwaters following the heavy rains brought by Typhoon Ulysses combined with high tide level and water coming from the upstream.

According to Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Paul Magat, floodwaters of up to three feet was experienced in both coastal and poblacion villages as of Friday noon, November 13.

Magat said the floodwaters are still expected to rise in the coming days, as waters from the upstream are coming down, causing the Pampanga River to overflow.

The flooding also displaced more nearly 400 families or about 1,500 individuals who were temporarily sheltered in different evacuation centers in the town.

All major roads in the town also remained passable to all types of vehicles except for Kalsadang Bayu, which was flooded by up to two feet.
