THE Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino lit up not only its tree, but also hope for the community during its Christmas tree lighting on Nov. 6, 2020 as it launched “Be a Light of Hope” for the benefit of frontliners and families in need.
The symbolic event was attended by Department of Tourism 7 Director Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan, Tourism Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission chairperson Cindi King-Chan and Pagcor Casino Filipino Mactan branch manager Nestor Legaspina.
Together with the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, the hotel aims to raise funds for 2,500 frontliners and 3,000 families this Christmas, or a total of P3.2 million.
The Waterfront Hotels and Casinos have pledged P1 million for this cause.
Waterfront Mactan general manager Ali Banting said: “On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we will be giving grocery packs to less fortunate families in our barangay so they may still celebrate Christmas with their loved ones. And we will be preparing special Christmas meals for our brave frontliners from both Lapu-Lapu City and Red Cross who cannot be with their families and will be on duty on Christmas Day.”
