485 police officers return home

SOME 485 local cops will be reassigned to the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR), while another 15 police officers will be sent back to their hometowns after availing of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP's) Localization Assignment Program (LAP).

Newly installed PRO-COR Public Information Officer Captain Marnie Abellanida said LAP is a measure aimed to enhance their work performance by being reassigned to their hometowns.

“Despite the reassignment of our 15 police personnel to their hometowns, 485 police personnel coming from different regional command in the country are set to be reassigned to PRO-COR after availing of the program,” the newly installed information chief said.

Of the 15 cops who availed of the LAP, 11 are reassigned to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, two are reassigned to Central Visayas and one each reassigned to Cagayan Valley and locos Region.

“Prior to the retirement of former Chief PNP General Camilo Cascolan, he implemented the LAP so that aside from enhancing the work performances of police personnel, this would also strengthen their morale and welfare as they are reassigned to their hometowns or home provinces,” Abellanida said.

Cascolan in an earlier visit to the region reiterated the importance of LAP as it would help police efficiency and effectiveness in law enforcement.
