SEVERE Tropical Storm Ulysses has left a trail of destruction in Central Luzon, with Pampanga registering some P22,445,059 in damages to various crops and leaving 86 barangays flooded, according to the latest report of the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO).
Porac town reported damages to palay crops in two barangays worth P956,000. One barangay also reported P120,000 damages to corn crops and another P40,000 worth of damages to peanut crops.
Six barangays in Guagua town recorded P1,402,625 worth of damages to palay crops.
As of Saturday afternoon, Santa Rita town has the most number of damages to rice crops at P2,326,000, covering some six barangays. Floridablanca town also reported some P558,600 worth of damages to palay crops in six barangays.
In the 4th district, San Simon town reported some P6,624,000 worth of damages to palay crops, covering an area of five barangays.
Santo Tomas town also reported P600,000 worth of damages to palay crops in two barangays. Minalin town recorded some P326,000 damaged palay crops in one barangay.
Some P1,896,300 worth of damages to palay crops was also reported in two barangays of Candaba town.
Mexico town, in the third district, is the only town in the area to submit a damage report on crops, as of Saturday afternoon. The town has claimed P1,132,500 worth of damages to palay crops in two of its barangays.
Crop damages are expected to increase as the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist is still collating data from other towns affected by the recent typhoon.
In Magalang and San Simon town alone, some P617,500 worth of damages to livestock, mostly ducks and poultry housing, have been reported, according to a report from the Provincial Veterinary Office.
Mabalacat City reported damages to its palay and corn crops with damages at P216,000 and P87,000, respectively. This only covers two separate barangays.
Some five barangays in the City of San Fernando also reported damages to palay crops, allegedly worth P746,000.
In Macabebe town, some P640,000 worth of fruits and vegetable produce has been damaged in three barangays, while two barangays of the town reported damages to fruit-bearing trees worth P40,000.
