THE City of San Fernando recorded on November 13, 2020, the highest number of recoveries from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) since March, the start of community quarantines and the pandemic this year.

According to the City Health Office (CHO) here, the local government unit sent home on Friday 75 Fernandinos who have recovered from the contagious virus. Some 1,312 confirmed, active, suspected and probable individuals had been admitted to the city’s isolation facility since April 15.

From the data of the CHO, only 146 individuals were housed in the six buildings of the city’s isolation facility, as of November 13.

Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago personally led the send-off-to-home ceremony of those who have recovered at the Covid-19 Kalingang Fernandino Isolation Facility located at the City Civic Center.

Kahit anong pagsubok, dahil sama-sama tayo, tulong tulong tayo at naniniwala tayo na may gobyernong lokal, at nasyonal nalalagpasan natin,” the mayor added.

Dr. Renely P. Tungol, city health officer-in-charge and incident commander of the Incident Management Team, said the majority of those who recovered were from families who got infected upon attending mass gatherings.

“Most of them ay magpapa-pamilya na close contacts ng mga confirmed cases sa kanilang bahay and mass gathering pa din ang kadalasang dahilan. Mayroon ding mga iilang empleyado,” Tungol said.

Tungol underscored the importance of practicing basic health protocols in avoiding the novel coronavirus.

It should be consistently practiced,” she said. (JTD with CSF-CIO)
