THE latest report of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) on Sunday, November 15, 2020, placed the worth of damages brought by Typhoon Ulysses at a total of P125,412,426, with Pampanga's fisheries sector sustaining the most damage.
Pampanga’s coastal towns alone registered some P70,334,168 worth of damages.
Macabebe town alone sustained some P44,522,185, followed by Masantol with P14,422,658 worth of damages.
The losses were mostly on the aquaculture industries in the said town. Minalin town also reported some P14,422,658 in damages along with Sasmuan town with P3,024,700.
Damage to high-value crops in Pampanga has also reached P3,047,900, mostly in Lubao, Magalang, Macabebe, San Luis, Bacolor, Candaba, City of San Fernando and Mabalacat City.
Thirteen towns and two cities in the province also reported damages to palay crops with total combined damages now reaching P52,030,358, which, coupled with the recent damages from Typhoon Rolly, may offset the province’s palay production targets this quarter.
Most of the damages to palay crops are in Arayat town, which is reported at P14,821,875. Other towns with considerable damage to their palay crops include Mexico with P3,427,750 worth of damages; Santa Ana with P2,325,000; Santo Tomas with P2,305,090; San Simon with P6,624,000; Candaba with P4,612,500; San Luis with P8,635,880 and Santa Rita with P2,326,000.
Damage to the province’s livestock sector was mostly confined in Magalang and San Simon town, which reported combined damage of P617,500, mostly to poultry and duck housing.
