EASTERN Visayas reported two more fatalities due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and 39 additional cases on Monday, November 16, 2020.
The two deaths were identified as a 59-year-old female from Marabut, Samar, who died on November 14, and a 26-year-old male from Calbayog City, who died on November 15.
According to the regional health department, the 39 new cases are from Abuyog (1); Bato (2); Palo (1); Tabango (2); Tanauan (1); Calbayog City (5); Calbiga (3); Catbalogan City (1); San Sebastian (1); Balangkayan (4); Borongan (3); Guiuan (1); and Quiunapondan (4).
The new cases were recorded out of 487 laboratory samples tested at the Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center and Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory in Tacloban City.
As of Monday evening, the region’s total number of Covid-19 cases is at 7,918, with total recoveries at 7,227 (91.27 percent) and total deaths at 77 (0.97 percent).
This brought the total active cases to 614 (7.75 percent). (SunStar Philippines)
