CLARK FREEPORT -- Marriott Worldwide Business Councils (MWBC) Philippines virtual "Run To Give" aims to raise funds for children in need in the Philippines.

This year, all Marriott properties in the Philippines – Clark Marriott, Manila Marriott, Sheraton Manila, Sheraton Manila Bay, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, and Sheraton Cebu Mactan – virtually come together to run with a bold attempt to generate one million pesos for the Marriott Associate Welfare Fund and its partner beneficiary, the Save The Children Philippines.

MWBC Philippines President Bruce Winton encourages everyone to join the year-end activity saying, "This replaces our golf tournament for 2020 only and will help the child victims of now four back-to-back typhoons through our partnership with Save Children Philippines.”

Run To Give (RTG) is a Marriott International-initiated charity run that is simultaneously conducted in the Asia Pacific as part of its Take Care programs.

While it may be true that the pandemic has been holding the world captive from its routine, like marathons and meets having been canceled indefinitely; the MWBC Philippines continues to pursue ways to extend help in the best ways it can, thus, the Virtual RTG.

Anyone interested may sign up to complete a total mileage and select among 50 km, 100 km, 200 km, or 300 km.

Participate whenever, wherever, and however you want because it is not only limited to running. Participants can hike, bike, or even swim at your own pace and at your most convenient time and place.

Register and help reach the 40,040km goal in 40 days. Participants must record their progress with their preferred running app between November 9 to December 18.

Runners may register and record their daily progress through www.takbo.ph. Registration starts at P500.

An e-certificate of completion will be received at the end of each challenge. A souvenir shirt may also be availed with an add-on cost.

Those who are willing to donate, but do not have the time to run may choose to either donate directly to MWBC Philippines’ chosen beneficiaries or sponsor a participant and take an exclusive part in its charity initiative.
