PRO-Cordillera top cop welcomes Sinas appointment

POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera Director Brigadier General R'win Pagkalinawan expressed his support to newly installed Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Debold Sinas.

Pagkalinawan said with the appointment of Sinas, the organization will focus on fiscal-logistical reforms of the PNP.

"With his appointment, the organization will expect that all the needs of our police personnel down the line will be provided to them. Sinas is a good choice because he is a workaholic," Pagkalinawan said.

The regional director believes the management style of Sinas will help in improving the present management system of the police organization.

"As an example, we found out that we have seven police station that does not have a WiFi signal and advised them to make a request to the regional command. These are just some of the things that Sinas knows is very important for our operational requirements," Pagkalinawan added.

Sinas was director of the Central Visayas' regional police office in Cebu City from July 2018 until January this year, when he was appointed head of the National Capital Region Police Office.

His mandatory retirement is on May 2021, when he turns 56.

President Rodrigo Duterte appointed the controversial officer as the 25th chief of the 200,000-strong police force, replacing Cascolan who reached his mandatory retirement age last week after only serving for over a month.
