Aid for Benguet OFW vowed

A LAWMAKER assured assistance for the return of the remains of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) from Atok, Benguet.

On Tuesday, November 17, Benguet caretaker and ACT-CIS partylist representative Eric Go Yap said they are in close coordination with authorities from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following the alleged suicide of an OFW.

Yap added that after Typhoon Ulysses hit the country, they took the opportunity to visit the family and pledge to coordinate with the UAE consul-general in order to give justice for her death.

Yap also assured scholarship for the eight-year-old child of the deceased until college.

Yap said assistance will also be given to the family of the OFW.

Yap advised all OFWs in the province to take care of themselves, adding, their office are open to help.
