Giila siya nga “Kampeyon sa Media” tungod sa pagpangamahan sa Cebu Press Freedom Law ug expanded Sotto law ug sa uban pang mga butang ug mga kalihokan nga may labot sa media uban sa pagtambayayong sa Cebu Citizens-Press Council (CCPC).
Si Del Mar mao ang principal author sa Republic Act (RA) No. 11122 nga giaprobahan ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte niadtong Oktubre 30, 2018 nga nagdeklarar sa Septiyembre 21 sa matag tuig nga usa ka working holiday sa syudad sa Sugbo ug sa tibuok lalawigan sa Sugbo, ang adlaw nga pagailhon nga Cebu Press Freedom Day.
Si Del Mar usab ang nipasaka sa orihinal nga balaudnon nga gipasar isip RA No. 114581 niadtong 2019 nga nagpalapad sa Sotto Law, RA No. 53 nga gipasar niadtong 1946. Ginganlan kini’g Sotto Law agi’g pasidungog sa author niini, ang Sugbuanong senador nga si Vicente Sotto, apohan ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
Ang orihinal nga Sotto Law nagkanayon, “The publisher, editor or duly accredited reporter of any newspaper, magazine or periodical of general circulation cannot be compelled to reveal the source of any news report or information appearing in said publication which was related in confidence to such publisher, editor or reporter, unless the court or a House or committee of Congress finds that such revelation is demanded by the interest of the state.”

Ubos sa RA No. 114581 nga gipangamahan ni Del Mar, mao na kini karon ang balaod, “Without prejudice to his liability under the civil and criminal laws, any publisher, owner, or duly recognized or accredited journalist, writer, reporter, contributor, opinion writer, editor, columnist, manager, media practitioners involved in the writing, editing, production, anf dissemination of news for mass circulation, of any print, broadcast, wire service organization, or electronic mass media, including cable TV and its variants, cannot be compelled to reveal the source of any news item, report or information appearing or being reported or disseminated through said media, which was related in confidence to the abovementioned media practitioners unles the court of the House of Representatives or the Senate or any committee of Congress finds that such revelation is demanded by the security of the State.”
