AN estimated P30,600 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 4 at Purok Hervias 2, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Tuesday evening.

The operation also led to the arrest of John Paul Cardinas, 32, of Barangay Villamonte.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Cardinas was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 8:20 p.m.

Police recovered from Cardinas’s possession six sachets of shabu weighing 4.5 grams and the P500 marked money.

Pico said Cardinas was identified as street level individual. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

He said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
