Farmers' groups get aid from DA-Saad

THE Department of Agriculture, through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-Saad) Program, has delivered some P217,800 worth of agricultural inputs farmers associations in the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte and Sulu.

DA Regional Executive Director Rad Donn Cedeño said the recipients of the farmed inputs are the Dampalan Farmers Association in Dapitan City and La Libertad Agricultural Producers Farmers Association (Laproda) in La Libertad, Zamboanga del Norte.

The recipients in Sulu are 60 selected farmers in the municipalities of Maimbung, Indanan, and Talipao.

Cedeño said the Dampalan Farmers Association received four collapsible dryers worth P114,000 under the Corn Production Project 2020.

Cedeño said the Laproda received 10 plastic crates under the Honeydew Production Project 2019.

He said the area coordinators facilitated the delivery of 60 bags of 18 kilograms each of corn seeds worth P103,800 to the 60 farmers in

selected villages in the towns of Maimbung, Indanan, and Talipao in Sulu.

He said each of the recipients will receive one bag of corn seeds as initial start-up of the livelihood project, known as the Cassava Corn Peanut Integrated Farming. (SunStar Zamboanga)
