THE Department of Health (DOH) on Friday, November 20, 2020, reported 27 additional deaths from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), raising the death toll past 8,000.
Based on the November 20 case bulletin, the death toll increased to 8,025. The case fatality rate remained at 1.93 percent.
Also on Friday, the DOH reported 1,639 new infections, pushing the total confirmed cases in the country to 415,067, including 31,805 active cases.
Davao City again topped the list of cities and provinces with the highest number of new infections at 113.
The city, hometown of President Rodrigo Duterte, has been reverted to general community quarantine (GCQ) effective immediately until November 30, 2020.
Other areas with the highest number of new cases were Laguna (76), Quezon City (75), Rizal (75), and Cavite (63).
There were additional 305 recoveries, bringing the total to 375,237, or 90.4 percent of the total case count.
Of the active cases, 84.7 percent were mild cases, 8.1 percent were asymptomatic cases, 4.5 percent were critical cases, 2.4 percent were severe cases, and 0.21 percent were moderate cases. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
