Iloilo Capitol opens slots for 125 scholars

THE Iloilo Provincial Government is again opening its scholarship program to poor but deserving first year college students for School Year 2020-2021 in the province.

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said 25 recipients will be chosen from each congressional district, totaling to 125 scholars.

"We will again recruit scholars. They must be poor but deserving of the assistance," Defensor said.

The Iskolar sang Iloilo Program (ISIP) is open to economically challenged but deserving senior high school graduates and a bonafide resident of the Province of Iloilo.

Recipients should belong to families with an annual income of not more than P150,000.

He or she must have a general weighted average of at least 90 as indicated in Form 138 (Senior High School Card) and must be enrolled to a four or five-year baccalaureate degree in any state university/college located within the Province of Iloilo.

A weighted average grade of 2.5 and no grade lower than 3 in any of the subjects should be maintained.

Under the program, scholars are entitled of the following: monthly stipend of P3,500, learning resource assistance of P3,000 per semester, and P2,500 thesis/research assistance for graduating students.

Those graduating with Latin honors will also receive cash assistance -- P7,000 for Summa Cum Laude, P5,000 for Magna Cum Laude, and P3,000 for Cum Laude. All graduating scholars will receive P1,000.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents: properly filled out ISIP Application Form with 2"x2" recent photo; FORM 138 -- Senior High School Card; certificate of no existing scholarship issued by the state college/university where enrolled; copy of the latest Income Tax Return or Certificate of Indigency issued by the municipal social welfare and development office (MSWDO); Certificate of Residency; picture of house (inside view, outside front, outside back); and vicinity sketch of the applicant's residence (use landmarks) from the municipal town proper.

Application forms are electronically available and downloadable online from the Human Ipg Facebook Page, Balita Halin sa Kapitolyo Facebook Page, and IPG website Iloilo.gov.ph.

Application forms should be emailed to iskolarsangiloilo.ipg@gmail.com or could be submitted to the HRMDO, 3rd, floor, Iloilo Provincial Provincial Capitol and Office of the Student Affairs (UPV, WVSU, ISAT U, ISCOF, NIPSC).
