17 residents in Cagayan de Oro infected

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has logged 17 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which are local transmissions, epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya reported Friday, November 20.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 2,133.

Acting City Health Office Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 17 new local cases, four are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and two are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 2,133 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 377 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 1,756 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,756 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 900 local index cases and 701 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 565 active cases, 24 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 521 are outpatients, and 20 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 25 new coronavirus-positive persons, who are now tagged as recovered after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,477.

Of the figure, 259 are LSIs, 97 are ROFs and 1,121 are local cases (community: 887; Apors: 234).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 91.
