1 arrested, 6 minors rescued from Leyte cybersex den

A 23-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested, while six minors were rescued after operatives from Police Regional Office (PRO)-Eastern Visayas launched an entrapment operation at the alleged cybersex den in Leyte on November 18, 2020.

Police said the suspect was forcing the victims, aged 7 to 17, to engage in sexual acts in exchange for P5,000 for an “online show” with their clients abroad.

The suspect is also a close relative of the five victims, according to an initial investigation.

Seized during the raid were cellphones and assorted SIM and memory cards, which were used in the cybersex operation.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Ronaldo De Jesus, regional director, vowed that the police will “remain incessant against these violators who treat minors as their easy preys.”

“It is bothering how some people exploit our minors for some cruel purpose. Our children are to be loved and sheltered, not abused,” the police official said.

Charges are being prepared against the suspect for violation of Republic Act 9208 as amended by Republic Act 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking Act 2003. (SunStar Philippines)
