Coronavirus cases rise by over 1,700

THE Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday, November 21, 2020, reported 1,791 new coronavirus infections, pushing the total to 416,852.

The cities and provinces with the highest number of new cases were Tarlac (211), Davao City (115), Laguna (74), Cavite (69) and Negros Occidental (65).

The DOH also reported 55 additional mortalities, raising the death toll to 8,080 and the case fatality rate to 1.94 percent.

There were 328 new recoveries, bringing the total to 375,548, or 90.1 percent of the total count.

Of the total, 33,224 or 8.0 percent were active cases.

Of the active cases, 84.5 percent were mild cases, 8.7 percent were asymptomatic, 4.3 percent were in critical condition, 2.3 percent were severely ill and 0.20 percent were moderate cases. (HDT/SunStar Philippines)
