Covid-infected residents in Oro now at 2,156

TWENTY-THREE residents, one of whom is a locally stranded individual (LSI), tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 2,156.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said four of the 22 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases.

Of the 2,156 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 378 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 1,778 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,778 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 917 local index cases and 706 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 546 active cases, 53 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, 472 outpatients, and 21 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 40 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,517.

Of the figure, 259 are LSIs, 97 are ROFs, and 1,161 are local cases (community: 923; Apors: 238).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 93.
