NPA-NDF declared persona non grata

THE NPA-NDF was declared persona non grata through a resolution by the officials of Barangay Canlusong, E.B Magalona.

The resolution was signed after about 84 residents of Barangay Canlusong gathered together in a Peace Advocacy Symposium on Friday.

Initiated by the Army's 79th Infantry (Masaligan) Battalion under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Alvaran, Commanding Officer, the symposium includes lectures and audio visual presentations aimed at giving awareness to the community regarding insurgency, infiltration efforts of the CPP-NPA-NDF and its recruitment schemes to empower the residents to be productive and well-informed members of the society.

It was participated by the Local Government Unit of E.B. Magalona headed by Mayor Marvin M. Malacon, Barangay Council of Canlusong headed by Brgy Captain Miriam Porras, PNP-SAF 6SAB and E.B Magalona Police Station headed by P/Capt Joseth Catonina.

The Masaligan troopers also distributed educational leaflets on the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and Anti-Terrorism Law (ATL) that forms part of 79IB's awareness campaign and facilitated the distribution of food packs from the local government unit of E.B. Magalona.

"Ugyon kita tanan, mag-isa kita tanan sa isa ka kawsa, sa pag asenso sa Barangay Canlusong," said Malacon in his message.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Alvaran, Commanding Officer of the 79th IB said, "symposiums like this will equip the residents to resolve possible issues that will provoke them to join the armed group and help prevent infiltration of the CNTs in the community"

"Attaining a just, sustainable, and lasting peace cannot be left to the security forces alone. We need to unite and help each other contribute to the peace-building efforts of the government and be partners in ending local communist armed conflict," Alvaran added.
