A USED clothing trader and a newly-identified drug personality were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the region, the police reported Monday, November 23.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Abdurahman Sarangan, 36; and Marlou Pansib, 41.

Duco said Sarangan, a used clothing trader, was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 7:40 p.m. Sunday in Sitio Sibictol in Arena Blanco village, Zamboanga City.

Sarangan yielded some P3,000 worth of shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets and P200 marked money.

Pansib, a newly-identified drug personality, was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 7:36 p.m. Sunday in Purok Makiangayon, Balangasa village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from Pansib were some P5,000 worth of shabu packed in five heat-sealed plastic sachets, a cellular phone, and P1,000 marked money.

Duco said the two suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
