50 more Cagayan de Oro residents infected with coronavirus

FIFTY residents have tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 2,206.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said 25 of the 50 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and 10 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 2,206 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 378 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 1,828 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,828 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 940 local index cases, and 733 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 501 active cases, 58 of whom are admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 427 outpatients, and 16 ar ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 91 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative over the weekend. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,608.

Of the figure, 262 are LSIs, 99 are ROFs, and 1,247 are local cases (community: 1,002; Apors: 245).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 97.
