Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the City Government is not planning to impose a granular lockdown on the 35 barangays.

"Wala na siya sa discussion sa (It is not part of the discussion) of the Davao City Task Force on Covid-19," the mayor said in an interview via 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio.

She added that it will be the National Coordinated Operations to Defeat Pandemic (Code) Team who will be assessing and deciding on what areas will be placed under a granular lockdown.

"Kung naay desisyon nga ing-ana (In case there will be plans like that), I'm sure the Code team will make the proper announcement," Duterte-Carpio said.

The mayor said in a previous interview that the city will be concentrating on granular lockdown on areas with highly-recorded cases, following the shift of the city back to general community quarantine (GCQ) on Friday, November 20.

The GCQ status, as recommended by the National Task Force Against Covid-19 will end on November 30. But the mayor said this might be extended until the end of the year, depending on the Covid-19 situation on the ground.
