16 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Cagayan de Oro

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office has recorded 16 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, four of whom are locally stranded individuals (LSIs), epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said Tuesday, November 24.

This brought the total number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the city to 2,222.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 12 new local cases, four are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and one is a local authorized person outside residence (Apor).

Of the 2,222 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 382 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 1,840 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,840 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), 948 local index cases, and 737 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 509 active cases, 59 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 430 are outpatients, and 20 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered eight new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as recovered after their repeat swab test results came out negative. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,616.

Of the figure, 262 are LSIs, 99 are ROFs and 1,255 are local cases (community: 1,009; Apors: 246).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city remains at 97.
