Negros Occidental 3rd District gets more aid for people in crisis situation

AROUND P5 million has been distributed to 979 indigents in crisis situation in the Third District of Negros Occidental by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which is coordinating closely with the office of Representative Francisco Benitez, as of November this year.

At least 341 more residents of the Third District received last November 19 and 20 financial aid from the joint effort of the DSWD and the Congressional District Office organizing the distribution activities strictly enforcing health protocols.

Under the Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the DSWD, qualified beneficiaries were provided cash aid for medical and burial assistance.

The November AICS aid totaled to P 1.9 M for indigents in the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay and the municipalities of EB Magalona and Murcia.

To date, three pay-outs have been facilitated this 2020 -- 284 individuals in May totaling to P1.3 million; 187 beneficiaries in July with P837,000; and 167 recipients in September with P848,000.
