Capitol worker dies of Covid-19; Pala-pala on lockdown

GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed Tuesday, November 24, that a job order employee of the province assigned at the Pala-pala or the Negros Occidental Food Terminal died Monday, November 23, of Covid-19.

The employee reportedly succumbed to cardiac arrest.

Lacson also said that Pala-pala has been put on lockdown for disinfection.

Lawyer Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said they have already launched contact tracing for the individuals who may have had contact with the patient, while they also conduct decontamination of the premises.

Based on records from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the province currently has a total of 5,373 confirmed cases, 663 of which are still active, and 162 fatalities.

Covid-19 recoveries for Negros Occidental is at 4,548.
