Golden Harvest Festival canceled, caroling prohibited in Valencia City

THE annual Golden Harvest Festival and all local government-sponsored parties, programs and activities in Valencia City, Bukidnon are canceled, as issued in the Christmas season advisory of the city's Task Force for Covid-19.

According to the advisory, caroling on the streets and in public places is also prohibited. The prohibition includes all kinds of physical caroling contests, daygon competitions/fundraisers or choral concerts that involve mass gatherings.

Christmas parties, on the other hand, are limited to members of the same households, while large family, social and religious gatherings and reunions, especially in enclosed places without proper ventilation, should be avoided.

Restaurants, venues, fast foods, resorts and other establishments are to strictly enforce the 50-percent limit of the seating or venue capacity. Churches are also highly encouraged to make available to their faithful online or virtual services and limit in-person or physical attendance to Christmas religious observances.

The city's Task Force against Covid-19 reminded the residents that drinking in public places is prohibited at any time. Sari-sari stores and convenience stores are only allowed to sell alcoholic drinks and beverages up to 7 p.m., however, they are not allowed to serve alcoholic drinks in their premises or immediate vicinity.
