22 Candaba villages drug-cleared

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency declared drug-cleared more than 60 percent of Candaba town's villages.

Chief of police Lieutenant Colonel Efren David said 22 out of the total 33 barangays are already free from illegal drugs.

"Some barangays only need to submit documents to be officially declared drug-cleared. Hopefully, in the coming weeks, there will be barangays that will be added to the list," he said.

David added that police, through the support of the local government, eye to make the whole municipality drug-cleared by the end of 2020.

Mayor Rene Maglanque also asked for the cooperation of the rest of the barangays to achieve the target.

"Barangay officers play a big role in clearing their jurisdiction from illegal drugs so we ask for their cooperation to make our municipality safe from it," Maglanque said.
