THE pandemic has hit almost all industries hard. Real estate has no exception.

But as we move forward from this health and economic crises, real estate players like Santos Land Development Corporation (SLDC) is positive to regain momentum and continue providing quality homes and spaces to all.

SLDC sales and marketing manager Estela Aguilos in a phone interview with SunStar Davao said now more than ever is the best time to show people the importance of owning a space and a home.

“The past few months have been very challenging but in every challenge comes opportunity. We have revised our sales target considering that we are facing a pandemic. But we are glad to share that we still are able to hit our revised target for the year,” she said.

She also shared that industry experts projected that housing will dip to its lowest state in 2021 given the circumstances, however, Aguilos is confident that the company can overcome the on-going and upcoming waves of challenges.

“Maybe we just have to make our payment schemes more friendly this time given the situation we are in. I believe this will make our clients stay and invite even more buyers. At the end of the day, a house or space is a necessity to everyone pandemic or not,” she added.

Project updates

Aguilos emphasized that their workforce is working double-time as they continue to push for the selling of Ivory Residences Condominium and Ilumina Estates II.

For its horizontal project Ilumina Estates II, there are only 11 more house and lot units available as of November 24. These units are currently in different stages of completion from 25 to 80 percent.

Ilumina Estates II is a mid-cost to high-end development that offers peaceful and luxurious subdivision living. The project is situated in a 25-hectare area in Communal, Buhangin, Davao City.

In terms of land development, Aguilos said it is considered almost complete with total completion expected early next year.

Meanwhile, SLDC is also preparing for its development permit for its Ilumina Estates III.

Another horizontal project is Laureana Grand Plains located in Libby Road Puan, Davao City.

“We are now in the stage of securing its license to sell while the land development is already ongoing,” Auilos said.

Meanwhile, for its vertical project, The Ivory Residences, she said SLDC is fast-tracking its interior and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and (Fire) Suppression (MEPS) engineering.

“Despite the delays caused by the pandemic we are very glad to share that we are still on track. We are given by HLURB to finish it by 2022 but we will have it completed in 2021, so we are a year ahead,” she said, hoping no other lockdown will happen in the future.

The Ivory Residences, as described, is an 18-story tower with 328 units of various sizes and is capable of housing approximately 120 parking units spread out over three floors. It was launched in 2017 and is located on JP Laurel Avenue, Bajada, Davao City.
