WITH just a couple more days before December, City Mayor Oscar Moreno once again called for the cooperation of Cagayan de Oro residents to help reduce the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the city.

Moreno Friday, November 27, 2020, said he will only relax the quarantine restrictions, especially the curfew hours for the annual Simbang Gabi, if the number of new local Covid-19 cases in the city reached below 15.

"Let me emphasize this. Gusto nato na buhaton (the relaxation of restrictions), ato nang target, atong mission, but we have to show results first nga pwede na nato buhaton kay nag improve ang atong datos," Moreno said.

The city mayor added that a decline in Covid-19 cases in the city means that the people are being vigilant and the level of confidence has built up.

"Naay standards of what government should do, but the result really is a function of behavioral patterns sa katawhan," Moreno said.

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Director Arnel Agabe said people should limit and shorten the period of face-to-face activities during the holidays, as well as avoid traveling to places with higher quarantine classification mitigation and vice versa.

Buffet-style food services and sharing of household items during the holidays are also prohibited.

Agabe said even DILG Secretary Eduardo Año insisted on the public to avoid the conduct of parties and karaokes during the celebration to avoid the spike in Covid-19 cases.
