Caregiver in Macabebe town contracts coronavirus

A 53-YEAR-OLD woman from Macabebe town, Pampanga who works as a caregiver has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the local government announced.

Based on the bulletin issued by the local government, the patient attended a barangay assembly in Caduang Tete village where she resides on November 14.

She immediately developed low-grade fever and cough the following day that subsided the next day, November 16.

The patient experienced colds and loss of taste on November 17 and 18 but still decided to go back to work in Bacolor town the following day and transported via public utility vehicles.

A reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test was conducted on the patient on November 19 while in Bacolor town and she was subsequently transported back to Barangay Caduang Tete while awaiting results.

The results came back positive three days after on November 23. The patient was immediately requested for admission to an isolation facility.

The local government, meanwhile, was able to identify 12 close-contacts, three from Bacolor and nine in Macabebe town, which are lined-up for swab testing. The patient is the 75th case of Covid-19 of this town.
