2 travelers busted for faking documents

PERSONNEL of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) arrested two individuals who were trying to enter the city with fake documents.

Andrew Moico Lut, 33, and John Kevin Magno Cagujas, 27, both residents of Bauang, La Union were arrested on November 26 at the designated Quarantine Check Point (CQP) in Irisan, Baguio City.

The two were on board their vehicle and passed through the quarantine checkpoint at Naguillian Road where they were flagged down for travel documents verification.

Both allegedly failed to present the original copies of their documents, prompting police officers to call the source of the documents for verification.

QCP team leader Police Lieutenant Arrizabal said Cezel Jane Gal, Laboratory Administrator of Safeguard DNA Diagnostics, confirmed their names were not registered with the laboratory.

Law enforcers also called in Alex Javier of the Raya Wellness and Preventive Medicine, who also confirmed that both did not undergo Covid-19 testing.

The two admitted their documents were fake and forged while Cagujas confessed that a friend, identified as Chito Quesada, gave them the fake documents.

The two were charged for violating Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
