Former Ateneo star Thirdy Ravena has tested positive for the dreaded Covid-19.

His Japanese team San-En NeoPhoenix announced this on Friday night.

According to the team’s statement, the high-flying wingman started feeling ill on Thursday, November 26.

“On the morning of November 26th (Thursday), he reported that he was in poor physical condition, and when the temperature was measured, a fever of 38.2°C was confirmed. He reported to the Toyohashi City Health Center and at a designated medical institution under the direction of the Health Center,” read the team’s statement regarding the Filipino’s condition.

The San-En NeoPhoenix reported that Ravena’s temperature has since subsided to 36.9, his sore throat has substantially improved and that his sense of taste and smell were back to normal.

Ravena is an integral part of the San-En NeoPhoenix as he averages 12 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in just under 24 minutes of action per game. The three-time UAAP Finals MVP participated in a practice game against the Kanazawa Samurai Team earlier this week and days later, told the team’s trainers that he was experiencing flu-like symptoms.

Ravena then went through another round of PCR test, where he tested positive.

With this development, the 23-year old will be missing San-En NeoPhoenix’s next game against the Shimane Susanoo Magic on Wednesday, December 2. The earliest that Ravena can play will be on December 12.(JNP)
