Marijuana bricks worth P26M seized; 3 suspects arrested

POLICE seized 217 kilos of marijuana bricks with an estimated value of P26 million and arrested three persons in a drug bust over the weekend, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Debold Sinas announced Monday, November 30, 2020.

It was the biggest drug haul so far under Sinas.

The suspects were identified as businesswoman Dianne Cambalicer, 37, driver Louie Cuerdo, 29, and a certain Angelo.

They were arrested during a drug bust at around 7 a.m. Sunday, November 29 along Edsa in Barangay Apolonio Samson, Balintawak, Quezon City.

All three and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) in Camp Crame for documentation and proper disposition.

Sinas congratulated the Regional Intelligence Division of the National Capital Region Police Office, Highway Patrol Group (HPG NHQ), Laloma Police Station in Quezon City and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives from NCR for the operation.

“The success in this endeavor would not have been achieved without the stronger cooperation between PNP units and the PDEA to seriously hit the use and selling of illegal drugs in the country,” Sinas said. (SunStar Philippines from PR)
