31 Oro residents infected with Covid-19, total now at 2,347

THIRTY-ONE residents, one of whom is a locally stranded individual (LSI), have tested positive for Sars-CoV-2 over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Cagayan de Oro to 2,347.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said 15 of the 30 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and five are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 2,347 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 389 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 1,958 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,958 local cases consist of 155 persons deprived of liberty, 998 local index cases and 805 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 480 active cases, 56 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center, 399 outpatients, and 25 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 57 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative over the weekend. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,764.

Of the figure, 263 are LSIs, 100 are ROFs, and 1,401 are local cases (community: 1,147; Apors: 254).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 103.
